I gave a testimony on Monday night. I am the one from Ocala who felt the electricity for the first time during the campmeeting. I shared how your ministry and the GAT changed my life and how thankful I am and afterword you said may God use you even more. While I was there God was dealing with me about my fear and you kept saying what are you afraid of. I am know convincing myself to rejoice in fear knowing that fear is not from God but that it means that Satan is trying to stop something really good. Today I put the rubber to the road. I felt really strong to go out and witness today. I was watching one of the campmeeting CD’s and the song Great Awakening came on and my son came out of the bedroom asking to go, saying the annointing was all over him. I got impressed to go to a nearby park which we had been to before and was surprised because it really didn’t go so well. Earlier that morning I remember thinking how cool it will be when we start running into people we have spoken with before. Well, one of the first people was one that got saved about 3 months ago outside my church just walking down the sidewalk wondering how to get saved. I was with a friend who has since went ministering with me. Anyway, after that I came across another guy, Adam as he said, “the first man in the bible”. The conversation started really weird but I walked away with the scripture in my head Hebrews 12:2 entertaining angels without knowing it. He started talking with me about a guy who used to hold a sign and walk all over Ocala for Jesus but got hit by a car and died. He did not know this but we hold signs at a particular corner and proclaim 2 days a week. I shared that with him after he mentioned the other guy and then he told me that at that same corner 25 years ago the KKK used to stand at that same corner professing their beliefs. He said how evil was replaced with good and it may have taken a long time but we need to be patient. Anyway he told me to not stop doing what we were doing and then even asked for a hug and the hug he gave was unusually strong for just meeting someone but not uncomfortable. Well, I walked away not wanting to but knowing the conversation was over. I just remember him wearing a gray jumpsuit and white/gray wooly hair. So then we walk up to the Basketball courts. There are 17 young men there. One happens to be a neighbor. One of the boys, my son talked with and he said he wasn’t ready. I had went on a basketball court before but this was a lot more people. I was scared. I kept picturing the clip on the newest GAT clip you play where they are bowing thier heads on the court. My son starts praying over me for boldness. He tells me to just ask um what if Jesus came right now. I was thinking multiplication factor. I want God to be able to trust me with more. I was waiting for the open door and they all took a break. I walked on the court. I asked them to all come over to me and huddle up. I said it would only take a minute but it was very important. I asked them if Jesus were to come back before their game was over would they go to heaven or hell? Several said hell. I went to the part in the script sharing the gospel. “all have sinned ect…. As far as we know everone did the prayer. It was so beautiful to hear them in unison. Even the one who said he wasn’t ready did it. As we walked away I heard a few say, I am going to church tomorrow. God is so awesome!
Sunday December 13, 2009 was a special day at the River at Tampa Bay church. It was the first of two toy giveaway scheduled at the River for the surrounding communities. I began attending the River in April, 2008. My family and I started doing the bus ministry very shortly thereafter. Every Sunday we go out into the community and bring people to church from all over Tampa, FL they come to hear and receive from the Lord. They come from all walks of life. Many of them have not experience the love of God and we have an opportunity as a body to demonstrate God’s love to them. Many give their heart to God and we see their lives transformed.
Last Sunday not only did the grown ups receive from the Lord but the children were blessed with toys. I had the privilege of handing out toys after the service. When I handed a doll to this little girl her eyes lit up and she had the biggest smile on her face. But when I looked up I saw her grandmother who attends regularly, she too was beaming from ear to ear. She was so happy you would have thought she was the one who received the doll. Their rejoicing blessed me. I saw them experience the love of God at that moment. I am so glad that the River Church is making a difference in the lives of people in the community. Pastor Rodney and Adonica Howard-Browne are committed to do what God has called us to do to take the good news of the gospel to every creature. I am privileged to be attending a church where we are sharing the gospel and winning the lost.
Today was just awesome. The Holy Spirit moved. Seventeen people got saved today. They all received Christ into their lives. Kerry cried as she prayed for one of them and a sparkle came in his eye. She would recommend people getting out of their shell to go.
11 years old 1st time soul winning–led 8 to the Lord Tried to pray with a guy who said there was only a man-made heaven but after continuing with the script the man prayed prayer with her!–also, got to pray with high school football team with 2 other classmates. 10 guys total got saved on the football team–she feels great that God used her to lead 8 people to the Lord on her first time soul winning.
I began text messaging my friends the first two questions on the script. Within minutes a lot of them replied yes and that they knew cause they had Jesus in their heart. But my best friend of 10 years wasn’t saved and my other friend also said she did not know if she would go to Heaven. My best friend said she would like me to pray for her. I led her to the Lord. My other friend said she wasn’t ready but she was crying.Also my cousin who grew up in church has been texting me about what I asked her. I just keep sticking to the script. Then on my way home today I felt impressed to go to Paia. I saw these two ladies hitch-hiking and read the script to them. They accepted. Four people got saved. It was so easy with the script.
Going out for the first time on 9/3/07–was very rewarding–It was a real challenge and most people were receptive to receiving Jesus in their hearts–some resisted, but received Jesus anyway (15 souls)
Today is my seven month save date and I had the honor of leading three souls to Christ. The first was an older lady who did not know if she was going to Heaven and I led her to the Lord. Second was a younger guy. He did not know if he was going to Heaven but now he is. The third guy did not know and half way through the salvation prayer he went to walk away and then I told him I was just saved seven months agao and how it changed my life and then he gave his life to the Lord.
This man asked me what am I selling and how much does it cost? I told him nothing it’s free! I followed the script and he repeated and he said that nobody told him about the Lord. He felt good afterwards and told me God bless you.
